(1) As the University has threefold functions, viz. teaching, Research and Extension, there shall be Directors in the University to assist the ViceChancellor in the smooth functioning of the University specifically in the areas of Research and Extension. There shall also be Director of Distance Education, and other Directors to assist the Vice-Chancellor in the University management. The Directors shall be appointed by the Vice-Chancellor. (2) The Directors shall exercise such other powers and perform such duties as may be prescribed by the Statutes/Regulations.
