1[31B. (1) The State Government shall appoint an officer to be the Director of Local Bodies, Uttar Pradesh. (2) In addition to the function expressly assigned to him by or under this Act, the Director shall exercise such powers of the State Government in relation to the affairs of a Board (not being powers under section 30) as the State Government may, by notification in the Gazette, and subject to such conditions and restrictions (including the conditions of review by itself) as may be specified in such notification, delegate to him.] as may appear to it to be necessary or expedient for carrying out the purposes of this section. ]
