Succession to property, assets, rights liabilitiesand obligations in certain cases

<span style="margin-left:15px;"></span><span style="margin-left:15px;"></span>[¹<b>115.</b> (1) On and from the date of commencement of the Uttar Pradesh Panchayat Laws (Amendment) Act, 1994&#x2014;<br> <span style="margin-left:15px;"></span><span style="margin-left:15px;"></span>(a) all property, interest in roperty and assets, including cash balances, wherever situate, which immediately before such date were vested in the Gram Sabha shall veet in and be held by the Gram Panchayat for the purposes of this Act ; and <br> <span style="margin-left:15px;"></span><span style="margin-left:15px;"></span>(b) all rights, liabilities and obligations of the aforesaid Gram Sabha whether arising out of any contract or otherwise, existing immediately before such date, shall be the rights,liabilities and obligations of the Gram Panchayat.<br><span style="margin-left:15px;"></span><span style="margin-left:15px;"></span>(2) Where any doubt or dispute arises as to whether anyproperty, interest or asset has vested in a Gram Panchayat under sub-section (1), or any right, liability or obligation has become the right, liability or obligation of a Gram Panchayat such doubt or dispute shall be referred in the manner prescribed to the State Government whose decision shall, unless superseded by any decision of a court of law, be final.<br> <br>
