(1) With effect from such date as the State Government may, by notification, appoint in this behalf, there shall be established for the rural areas of the State, a Board by the name of the Uttar Pradesh Rural Housing Board. (2) The Board shall be a body corporate and for the purposes of this Act, and any other law for the time being in force including the Land Acquisition Act, 1894, it shall be deemed to be a local authority.
