81. If a person sits or votes as a 1[Mayor], 2[* * *] or member of a 3[Corporation] at a meeting of the 1[Corporation] or any Committee thereof before he has complied with the requirements of sub-section (1) of section 85 or when he knows that he is not qualified or that he is disqualified for being a 2[Mayor], 3[* * *], 4[***] or 2[Corporator] as the case may be, he shall be liable in respect of each day on which he so sits or votes to a penalty of fifty rupees to be recovered as a debt due to the State.
