1[5-A. (1) The State Government shall appoint an officer to be the Director of Local Bodies, Uttar Pradesh. (2) In addition to the functions expressly assigned to him by or under this Act, the Director shall exercise such powers of the State Government in relation to the affairs of the 2[Corporation] (not being powers under sections 538 and 539), as the State Government may, by notification in the Gazette, and subject to such conditions and restrictions (including the condition of review by itself) as may be specified in such notification delegate to him.
