(1) The Chairman or the Secretary of the Authority or any other officer of the Authority authorized by it by general or special order in that behalf may, either before or after institution of the proceedings, compound any offence punishable under this Act on such terms including payment of composition fee as he may think fit. (2) Where an offence has been compounded the offender if in custody shall be discharged and no further proceedings shall be taken against him in respect of the offence so compounded.
