(1) The Executive Council shall constitute Selection Committee for making recommendations to the Executive Council for appointment to posts of Professors, Associate Professors, Assistant Professors and other teachers in the university. (2) The Selection Committee shall consist of the following members :- (i) the Vice-Chancellor, who shall be the Chairman of the Committee ; (ii) the Head of the Department concerned, if any, provided he holds a post not lower than the level of the post for which the selection is to be made ; (iii) three experts for selecting Professors, Associate Professors and Assistant Professors nominated by the Vice-Chancellor from amongst a panel of names recommended by the Academic Council and approved by the Executive Council. (3) The meeting of the Selection Committee shall be convened by the Vice-Chancellor whenever necessary. The Vice-Chancellor shall preside over the meetings of the Selection Committee. Three members of whom one shall be the expert of the Selection Committee shall form the quorum.
