For the purpose of this Act, the following shall be the duties and functions to be performed by the Tahsildar :- (1) to decide whether a persons is an agriculturist; (2) to decide whether a 1[person is or was at any time in the past, a tenant], a protected lessee or an occupancy tenant; (3) to decide a dispute regarding rent under section 12; (4) to commute rent in crop share into cash rent; (5) to commute rent in terms of service or labour into cash rent under section 14; (6) to determine the amount of compensation under section 15; (7) to determine the amount to be refunded to a tenant under section 18(4); (8) to decide whether any land should be declared as surplus under section 21; (9) to determine the amount of compensation for trees under section 25; (10) to determine any dispute regarding the right to produce of trees under section 26; (11) to determine the costs of repairing protective bunds under section 28; (12) to decide an application for possession under section 36; 2[(12A) to hold an inquiry and restore possession of land under section 49B;] (13) to sanction exchange of tenancies under section 51; (14) to determine compensation to be paid under section 52; (15) to fix the price of land under section 90; (16) to decide whether the transfer or acquisition is or is not invalid under section 122; (17) to dispose of land under section 122; (18) to take measures for putting the tenant or the landlord or the agricultural labourer or artisan or person carrying on allied pursuit into the possession of the land or dwelling house or site under this Act; and (19) to decide such other matters as may be referred to him by or under this Act.
<span style="margin-left:15px;"></span>For the purpose of this Act, the following shall be the duties and functions to be performed by the Tahsildar :-<br> <span style="margin-left:15px;"></span><span style="margin-left:15px;"></span>(<i>1</i>) to decide whether a persons is an agriculturist;<br> <span style="margin-left:15px;"></span><span style="margin-left:15px;"></span>(<i>2</i>) to decide whether a <sup>1</sup>[person is or was at any time in the past, a tenant], a protected lessee or an occupancy tenant;<br> <span style="margin-left:15px;"></span><span style="margin-left:15px;"></span>(<i>3</i>) to decide a dispute regarding rent under section 12;<br> <span style="margin-left:15px;"></span><span style="margin-left:15px;"></span>(<i>4</i>) to commute rent in crop share into cash rent;<br> <span style="margin-left:15px;"></span><span style="margin-left:15px;"></span>(<i>5</i>) to commute rent in terms of service or labour into cash rent under section 14;<br> <span style="margin-left:15px;"></span><span style="margin-left:15px;"></span>(<i>6</i>) to determine the amount of compensation under section 15;<br> <span style="margin-left:15px;"></span><span style="margin-left:15px;"></span>(<i>7</i>) to determine the amount to be refunded to a tenant under section 18(4);<br> <span style="margin-left:15px;"></span><span style="margin-left:15px;"></span>(<i>8</i>) to decide whether any land should be declared as surplus under section 21;<br> <span style="margin-left:15px;"></span><span style="margin-left:15px;"></span>(<i>9</i>) to determine the amount of compensation for trees under section 25;<br> <span style="margin-left:15px;"></span><span style="margin-left:15px;"></span>(<i>10</i>) to determine any dispute regarding the right to produce of trees under section 26;<br> <span style="margin-left:15px;"></span><span style="margin-left:15px;"></span>(<i>11</i>) to determine the costs of repairing protective bunds under section 28;<br> <span style="margin-left:15px;"></span><span style="margin-left:15px;"></span>(<i>12</i>) to decide an application for possession under section 36;<br> <span style="margin-left:15px;"></span><span style="margin-left:15px;"></span><sup>2</sup>[(<i>12A</i>) to hold an inquiry and restore possession of land under section 49B;]<br> <span style="margin-left:15px;"></span><span style="margin-left:15px;"></span>(<i>13</i>) to sanction exchange of tenancies under section 51;<br> <span style="margin-left:15px;"></span><span style="margin-left:15px;"></span>(<i>14</i>) to determine compensation to be paid under section 52;<br> <span style="margin-left:15px;"></span><span style="margin-left:15px;"></span>(<i>15</i>) to fix the price of land under section 90;<br> <span style="margin-left:15px;"></span><span style="margin-left:15px;"></span>(<i>16</i>) to decide whether the transfer or acquisition is or is not invalid under section 122;<br> <span style="margin-left:15px;"></span><span style="margin-left:15px;"></span>(<i>17</i>) to dispose of land under section 122;<br> <span style="margin-left:15px;"></span><span style="margin-left:15px;"></span>(<i>18</i>) to take measures for putting the tenant or the landlord or the agricultural labourer or artisan or person carrying on allied pursuit into the possession of the land or dwelling house or site under this Act; and<br> <span style="margin-left:15px;"></span><span style="margin-left:15px;"></span>(<i>19</i>) to decide such other matters as may be referred to him by or under this Act.<br>
