(1) The Academic Council shall consist of the following members, namely; - (a) the Vice-Chancellor - Chairperson, (b) the Pro-Vice-Chancellor, (c) one Dean nominated, (d) Finance Officer, as may be invited by the Vice Chancellor, (e) Such other members as may be prescribed in the Statutes, as may be invited by the Vice-Chancellor, (f) the Deans of Faculties for Post-graduate and Undergraduate Studies, (g) the Dean(s) of Students' Welfare, (h) the Heads of Departments, (i) the Librarian, (j) Professor, other than the Heads of departments, according to the seniority, to be nominated by the Vice-Chancellor, (k) Associate Professor, other than the Heads of departments, (l) Teachers from Faculty Council. (2) Vice-Chancellor shall appoint one member of the Faculty Council not below the rank of an Associate Professor, as Member Secretary of the Academic Council. (3) One-third of the total members of the Academic Council present, shall form the quorum. (4) All members of the Academic Council if not otherwise provided for by or under this Act, shall hold office for a period of three years.
