Every Water Users’ Association (WUA) constituted under this Act shall be a body corporate with a distinct name having perpetual succession and a common seal and shall have the power to acquire, hold and dispose of property and to enter into contracts and of doing all things necessary, proper or expedient for the purposes for which it is constituted and may sue or be sued in its corporate name : Provided that, no Water Users’ Association shall have the power to alienate in any manner, any property vested in it by the Government for the operation and management
