Powers and functions of the Academic and Activity Council

<b>25.</b> Subject to the provisions of this Act and the regulations made thereunder , the Academic and Activity Council shall exercise the following powers and perform the following functions, namely: -<br> <span style="margin-left:15px;"></span><span style="margin-left:15px;"></span>(i) exercise control over the academic policies of the University and be responsible for the maintenance and improvement of standards of instruction, education and evaluation in the University;<br> <span style="margin-left:15px;"></span><span style="margin-left:15px;"></span>(ii) consider matters of general academic interest either on its own initiative or on a reference from the faculty of the University or the Board and to take appropriate action thereon;<br> <span style="margin-left:15px;"></span><span style="margin-left:15px;"></span>(iii) recommend to the Board, such regulations as are consistent with this Act regarding the academic functioning of the University including discipline among students; and<br> <span style="margin-left:15px;"></span><span style="margin-left:15px;"></span>(iv) exercise such other powers and perform such other functions as may be conferred or imposed upon it by the regulations.<br>
