16. (1) The Head Coaches shall be appointed by the Vice-Chancellor from amongst the coaching faculties of the University by following the due process of law. (2) The Head Coaches shall assist the Vice-Chancellor and Director of the University in managing the academic and other training affairs of the University centre for high performance training and shall exercise such powers and perform such functions as may be prescribed by the Statute or entrusted to them by the Vice-Chancellor and the Director. (3) The person to be appointed as a Head Coach shall be a trainer/teacher/Lecturer/Professor of the University or be eligible to teach in any of the affiliated courses of the University in any college/institution, a trainer/teacher/Lecturer/Professor who has at least won a medal in National Championship (Senior category)/National Games and preferably played at the National or International Level in an Olympic Sport discipline.
