9. Every employee, not being a watchman or a caretaker, shall be allowed by the employer holiday on — (i) every close day which is a public holiday ; and (ii) one whole day in each week : Provided that nothing in clause (ii) shall apply to any employee whose total period of employment in the week (including any day spent on leave or any holiday), is less than six days.
