(1) No person other than an association or institution recognized or authorized by the Board under this Act shall confer, grant or issue or hold itself out as entitled to confer, grant or issue any degree, diploma, license, certificate or other document stating or implying that the holder, grantee, or recipient is qualified 1[in or otherwise entitled to practice] the 2[Ayurvedic and Unani Tibbi system of medicine]. (2) Whoever contravenes the provisions of this section shall on conviction be punishable with fine 3[with imprisonment not exceeding six months or with fine which may extend to five hundred rupees or with both] and if the person so contravening is an association, every member of such association who knowingly and willfully authorizes or permits the contravention shall on conviction be punishable with fine, 4[with imprisonment not exceeding three months or with fine which may extend to two hundred rupees or with both ].
