(1) Notwithstanding anything contained in sections 1[40A and 41] the 2[State] Government may, by rules or an order in writing, 3[authorize an officer to ] grant interim permits to persons applying for permits under any of the said provisions. (2) Such interim permits shall not be granted for any period exceeding two months.
