The President may be removed from his office by the sponsoring body, if it is satisfied that the incumbent,- (a) is of unsound mind and stands so declared by a competent court; or (b) has been convicted by a court for any offence involving moral turpitude; or (c) become an undischarged insolvent and stands so declared by a competent court; or (d) become physically unfit and incapable of discharging the functions or duties of the office due to protracted illness or physical disability; or (e) wilfully omitted or refused to carry out the provisions of this Act or has committed breach of any of the terms and conditions of the service contract or any other conditions prescribed by the Statutes, or has abused the powers vested in him or if the continuance of the President in the office has become detrimental to the interests of the university: Provided that, the President shall be given a reasonable opportunity to show-cause by the sponsoring body before taking recourse to action under clauses (d) and (e) for his removal from the said office.
