1[279-A. When there is any reason to believe that a case of infectious disease notifiable under section 279 has occurred in building the medical officer of health or other competent person deputed by him shall, subject to the provisions of section 287, enter the said building and make an examination of the person or persons suspected to be suffering from the disease and may also obtain material for pathological examination, if necessary : Provided that all females above the age of eight years shall be inspected by persons of their own sex only. ]
