(1) The Highway Authority may, as it thinks fit, authorise and delegate its powers to any officer, for the purposes of this Act. (2) The Highway Authority and the authorised officers shall exercise and perform such duties, as may be prescribed. (3) The Competent Authority may, as it thinks fit, authorise and delegate its powers to the officer not below the rank of Deputy Collector, for the purposes of this Act. (4) The Competent Authority and authorized officers shall exercise such powers and perform such duties, as may be prescribed.
