27ACentral Boilers Board
1[27A. Central Boilers Board.--(1) A Board to be called the Central Boilers Board shall be constituted to exercise the powers conferred by section 28.
2[(2) The Board shall consist of the following members, namely: --
(a) the Secretary to the Government of India incharge of the Department of the Central Government having administrative control of the Board who shall be the Chairperson ex officio;
(b) a senior technical officer conversant with the inspection and examination of boilers, to be nominated by the Government of each State (other than a Union territory);
(c) equal number of other persons as in sub-section (b) above to represent --
(i) Central Government,
(ii) the Bureau of Indian Standards,
(iii) boiler and boiler component manufacturers,
(iv) National laboratories,
(v) engineering consultancy agencies,
(vi) users of boilers, and
(vii) such other interests which in the opinion of the Central Government ought to be represented on the Board,
to be nominated by the Central Government;
(d) Technical Adviser, Member-Secretary ex officio.
(3) The term of office of the members nominated under clauses (b) and (c) of sub-section (2) shall be such as may be prescribed by the Central Government.]
3[(4) The Board shall have full power to regulate by means of bye-laws or otherwise its own producer and the conduct of all business to be transacted by it, the constitution of committees and subcommittees of members and the delegation to them of any of the powers and duties of the Board.]
(5) The powers of the Board may be exercised notwithstanding any vacancy in the Board.]
