§72

Summary

1[ (1) Every authority of an existing University shall, as soon as may be after the commencement of this Act, be constituted in accordance with the provisions of this Act, and every person holding office as a member of such authority immediately before the commencement of this Act shall, on the date of such commencement, cease to be such member.] (2) Until any authority of the University is constituted under sub-section (1), the State Government may, by order direct from time to time by whom and in what manner the powers, duties and functions exercisable or dischargeable under this Act by any authority of University shall be exercised or discharged ; 2[ Provided that no such direction shall be issued after December 31, 1981]. (3) The Administrative Committees and the Academic Committees constituted, in pursuance of sub-section (2) of section 67 of the Uttar Pradesh State Universities Ordinance, 1973, shall, on the 15th September, 1973, stand dissolved except as respects things done or omitted to be done by such Committees before that date, but nothing in this sub-section shall be deemed to preclude the State Government from taking, as from that date, such action under sub-section (2) as it thinks fit.
