24. (1) The constitution of the Governing Body and the term of office of its members shall be such as may be prescribed. (2) The Governing Body shall meet once a year on the date to be fixed by the Chancellor/President and such meeting shall be called the annual meeting of the Governing Body: Provided that the Chancellor/President may, whenever he thinks fit, and shall, upon a requisition in writing signed by not less than one fourth of the total membership of the Governing Body, convene a special meeting of the Governing Body. (3) Subject to provisions of this Act, the Governing Body shall Act as an advisory Body of the university and have the following powers and functions, namely:- (a) to review from time to time, the broad policies and programmes of the University and suggest measures for the working, improvement and development of the University, (b) to consider and pass resolutions on the Annual Report and Annual accounts of the University and Audit Report of such accounts and furnish their views to the Executive Council; (c) to advise the President in respect of any matter which may be referred to it for advice; (d) to perform such other functions as may be prescribed.
24.
