100. Whenever the office of the 1[Mayor] as well as of the 2[ * * * ] is vacant, the 1[Municipal Commissioner] shall, subject to any directions which the Prescribed Authority may give in this behalf, carry on the routine duties of the 1[Mayor] till a 1[Mayor] or 2[ * * *] is elected.
