40. Proceeding before Settlement Officer, Consolidation, Consolidation Officer and Assistant Consolidation Officer to be judicial proceedings. - A proceeding before a Director of Consolidation, Deputy Director of Consolidation, Settlement Officer, Consolidation, Consolidation Officer and Assistant Consolidation Officer, shall be deemed to be a judicial proceeding within the meaning of Sections 193 and 228 and for purposes of Section 196 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 ( Act No. 45 of 1860).
