1[(1) Besides the Gobind Ballabh Pant Krishi Evam Prodyogik Vishwavidyalaya in existence at Pantnager, immediately before the commencement of this section, there shall be established, with effect from such date as the State Government may, by notification in the Gazette appoint in that behalf (hereinafter referred to as the appointed day)2 (i) a 3[University at Ayodhya to be known as the Acharya Narendra Deva Krishi Evam Prodyogik Vishwavidyalaya]; and (ii) a University at Kanpur to be known as Chandrasekhar Azad Krishi Evam Prodyogik Vishwavidyalaya. 4[(1-A) Besides the Universities referred to in sub-section (1), there shall be established, with effect from such date as the State Government may by notification in the Gazette appoint in that behalf a University at Meerut to be known as the Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel Krishi Evam Prodyogik Vishwavidyalaya.] 5[(1-B) Besides the Universities referred to in sub-section (1) and sub-section (4-A) there shall be established with effect from such date as the State Government may, by notification in the Gazette, appoint in that behalf a University at Banda to be known as the 6[Banda Krishi Evam Prodyogik Vishwavidyalaya, Banda.] 7[(1-C) Besides the Universities referred to in sub-sections (1), (1- A) and (1-B) there shall be established, with effect from such date as the State Government may by notification in Gazette appoint in this behalf, a University at Kushinagar to be known as the Mahatma Buddha Krishi Evam Prodyogik Vishwavidyalaya, Kushinagar. 8[(2) In relation to the Universities to be established under 9[sub-under 9[sub-section (1) or sub-section (1-A) or sub-section (1-B)] (a) the State Government shall appoint interim officers of the Universities (other than the 10[Kuladhipati (Chancellor)] and shall constitute interim authorities of such Universities, in such manner as it thinks fit ; (b) the officers appointed and members of the authorities constituted under clause (a) shall hold office for a term of two years from the date of such appointment or constitution, as the case may be; (c) the State Government shall take steps for the appointment of officers and constitution of authorities of such Universities in accordance with the provisions of this Act, so that the same may be completed before the expiry of the respective terms of the interim officers and members under clause (b).]7
