1[271. Notwithstanding anything in this Act, during the period between the commencement of the Uttar Pradesh Panchayat laws (Amendment) Act, 1994, and the constitution of- (a) 2[the first Zila Panchayat under this Act as amended by the Uttar Pradesh Panchayat Laws (Amendment) Act, 1994] the Zila Panchayat and its Adhyaksha, 3[x x x] and members shall respectively exercise, perform, and discharge the power, functions and duties of the Zila Panchayat and its Adhyaksha, 3[x x x] and members and shall be deemed respectively to be the Zila Panchayat and its Adhyaksha, 3[x x x] and members, or (b) 4[the first Kshettra Panchayat under this Act as amended by the Uttar Pradesh Panchayat Laws (Amendment) Act, 1994 the 5[Zila Panchayat] and its Pramukh, 3[x x x] and members shall respectively exercise, perform and discharge the power, functions and duties of the Kshettra Panchayat and its Pramukh, 3[x x x] and members and shall be deemed respectively to be the Kshettra Panchayat and its Pramukh, 3[x x x] and members.]
