233. Where a 1[Zila Panchayat] is dissolved under section 232, the following consequences shall follow :- (a) all members of the 1[Zila Panchayat] including the Adhyaksha shall, on a date to be specified in the order, vacate their offices as such but without prejudice to their 2[eligibility for being elected as a member or as an Adhyaksha] under this Act. (b) As soon as may be, thereafter, the 1[Zila Panchayat] shall be reconstituted in accordance with the provisions of the Act ; (c) such person or persons as the State Government may appoint in that behalf shall so long as the 1[Zila Panchayat] is not reconstituted exercise and perform, so far as may be, the powers and duties of the 1[Zila Panchayat] and shall be deemed to be the 1[Zila Panchayat] for all purposes.
