(1) The Governor of Uttar Pradesh shall be the Chancellor of the University. He shall, by virtue of his office, be the Head of the University and when present, may preside over of any convocation of the University. (2) Every proposal for the conferment of an honorary degree shall be subject to the prior approval of the Chancellor. (3) The Chancellor may call for any information or record relating to the administration of the affairs of the University which shall be complied with by the University. (4) The Chancellor may cancel or modify any resolution, order or proceeding of nay authority, body, committee or officer of the University, which, in his opinion, is not in conformity with provision of this Act, Statutes, Ordinances, or Regulations made thereunder, or is not in the interest of the university and the university authority, body, committee and officer, shall comply with the same. (5) The Chancellor shall have such other powers as may be conferred upon him by the Statutes.
