The functions of the Zila Samiti shall be- (a) to take steps to educate people in soil and water conservation; (b) to direct the Bhoomi Sanrakshan Adhikari to make survey, collect data and prepare plans for the district or any part thereof and to perform functions incidental thereto ; (c) to consider and approve the plans so prepared ; (d) to take steps to ensure proper execution of the plans and to watch the progress of work thereunder ; (e) to make recommendations to the State Government for securing efficient execution of the plans ; (f) to carry out the directions issued by the State Government from time to time with regard to a plan ; and (g) to perform such other functions as may be specified by or under this Act.
