1 (1) This Act may be called the United Provinces Cotton Ginning and Pressing Factories Act, 1948. (2) It extends1 to the whole of [Uttar Pradesh].2 (3) This section shall come into force3 at once and the remaining sections on such date and in such areas as the [State Governmentic5634 may, by notification in the official Gazette, appoint, in this behalf.
