With effect from and on the date on which this Act comes into force,- (1) the khoti tenure shall, wherever it prevails in the merged territories of Janjira and Bhor included in the district of Kolaba, be deemed to have been abolished ; and (2) save as expressly provided by this Act all sanads granted in respect of a khoti village in the merged territories of Janjira shall be deemed to have been cancelled, and all the incidents of the said tenure shall be deemed to have been extinguished, notwithstanding any law, custom or usage or anything contained in any sanad, grant, kabulayat, lease, decree or order of any court or any other instrument.
