18Provision regarding fine
Notwithstanding anything contained in section 29 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (2 of 1974), it shall be lawful for a metropolitan magistrate or a magistrate of the first class to pass a sentence of fine exceeding five thousand rupees authorised by this Act or the regulations on any person convicted of any offence thereunder.
