(1) The Vice-Chancellor if he considers necessary may appoint a Pro Vice-Chancellor from amongst the professors of the University. (2) The Pro-Vice-Chancellor appointed under sub-section (1) shall discharge the duties in addition to his duties as a professor. (3) The Pro-Vice-Chancellor shall hold office at the pleasure of the Vice- Chancellor. (4) The Pro-Vice-Chancellor shall get such honorarium as may be recommended by the Executive Council. (5) The Pro-Vice-Chancellor shall assist the Vice-Chancellor in respect of such matters, as may be specified by the Vice-Chancellor in this behalf from time to time and shall preside over the meetings of the University in the absence of the Vice-chancellor and shall exercise such other powers and perform such other duties as may be assigned or delegated to him by the Vice-Chancellor
