(1) The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh shall be the ex-officio Chancellor of the University. (2) The Chancellor, by virtue of his office, will be the head of the University. (3) The Chancellor shall have such powers as may be conferred on him by this Act or the Statutes made thereunder. (4) Every proposal for the conferment of an honorary degree or distinction shall be subject to the confirmation by the Chancellor. (5) The Chancellor shall, if present, preside at the convocation of the University held for conferring degrees and diplomas.
