(1) The State Government shall have the power to cause an inspection to be made by such person or persons as it may direct of the University, its buildings, sports facilities infrastructure, libraries, laboratories, museum, workshop, and equipments of any college, institution or centre maintained, or affiliated to the University, and also of the teaching, and other works conducted by the University and of the conduct of examination held by the University, and to cause an inquiry to be made in like manner in respect of any matter connected with the administration, academic affairs and finances of the University or Colleges. (2) The State Government shall in every matter referred to in subsection (1) give notice to the University of its intention to cause an inspection or an inquiry to be made and the University shall be entitled to be represented thereat. (3) The State Government shall communicate to the University its views with reference to results of such inspection or inquiry and advise the University for the action to be taken in the matter. (4) Where the University does not, within the reasonable time, take action to the satisfaction of the State Government, the State Government may issue such directions to the University as it thinks fit and the University shall comply with such directions.
