Power to remove offensive or obnoxious trades from slum areas.

<span style="margin-left:15px;"></span><span style="margin-left:15px;"></span><span style="margin-left:15px;"></span><b>27.</b> (1) Where the State Government is of the opinion the any trade is offensive or obnoxious to the health, morality or safety of the persons residing in a slum area it may, by notification in the official Gazette, make a declaration to that effect.<br> <span style="margin-left:15px;"></span><span style="margin-left:15px;"></span><span style="margin-left:15px;"></span>(2) On publication of the declaration under sub-section (1) the Competent Authority shall, after affording reasonable opportunity of being heard to a person carrying on a trade, specified in the declaration, direct him in writing to remove the same from the slum area within such time as may be specified in the direction.<br> <span style="margin-left:15px;"></span><span style="margin-left:15px;"></span><span style="margin-left:15px;"></span>(3) If any person fails to remove the trade in a slum area within the time specified in the direction under sub-section (2) the Competent Authority shall cause it to be removed and may for this purpose use or cause to be used such force as may be necessary. <br>
