In this Act, unless there is anything repugnant in the subject or context - (a) 1[Director General], "Gazetted Officer", 2[ ***] and "Non-gazetted officer" means persons appointed to such offices as may be prescribed ; (b) "Member of the 1[Prantiya Rakshak Dal/Vikas Dal ]" means person who is enrolled as such and includes an officer appointed under the provisions of this Act ; (c) 1[State Government] means the Government of the 1[Uttar Pradesh] ; (d) "Prescribed" means prescribed by rules or regulations framed under this Act.
