(1) Where the State Government is satisfied that the Board has made default in performing any duty imposed on it by or under this Act or has abused its powers, the State Government may, by notification in the Gazette, supersede the Board. Provided that before notifying the supersession of the Board the State Government shall give reasonable opportunity to it to show cause why it should not be superseded and shall consider the explanations and objection, if any, of the Board. (2) After the supersession of the Board and untill it is reconstituted, which shall be done in the prescribed manner, the powers, duties and functions of the Board under the Act shall be exercised or performed by such officer or officers as may be appointed by the State Government for the purpose.
