(1) It shall be the duty of the Appropriate Authorities to undertake impact assessment of both social and environment aspects of such activities to be implemented in the area of their jurisdiction in accordance to the provisions of this Act. (2) The process of impact assessment shall include short-term and cumulative impact assessment, may be in the following fields and specifically: (a)Impact on right to water for life; (b)Impact on drinking water sources; (c)Impact on quality and quantity of groundwater; (d)Impact on agricultural production; (e)Impact on the ecosystem including rivers and water bodies; (f)Impact on land use.
