(1) An application for the registration of a society shall be made in the manner prescribed to the Registrar in such form as the Registrar may from time to time specify; and the applicants shall furnish to him all such information about the society as he may require. (2) Every such application shall conform to the following requirements, namely- (a) that it is accompanied by three copies of the proposed bye-laws of the society ; (b) that the applicants are eligible for membership under section 17 ; (c) that the application is duly signed by every applicant himself, if he is an individual, and by a duly authorized person if the applicant is any of the persons mentioned in any of the clauses (b) to (f) of section 17; (d) that the number of applicants, who are to be ordinary members of the society, is not less than ten, if all the applicants are individuals, and is not less than five in all other cases ; (e) that where the objects of the society include the creation of funds to be lent to its members, all the applicants who are to be the ordinary members of the society, if individuals reside in the same town or village or a group of contiguous villages, or belong to the same class. Explanation- For the purposes of this clause, any two or more persons shall be deemed to belong to the same class, if they pursue the same occupation or are under a common employer.
