(1) If the Collector is satisfied that for the purposes of executing a plan it is necessary that temporary possession of any land should be taken, he may, by order, direct the Bhoomi Sanrakshan Adhikari to take temporary possession thereof for such period, not exceeding five years, as may be specified in the order. (2) the Collector may, by order, extend, from time to time, the period of temporary possession so, however, that the total period of temporary possession shall in no case exceed ten years in all. Explanation—For the purposes of this section “land” does not include any land covered by a building of permanent character
