(1) The Executive Council shall consist of the chairman and other members specified in section 8 besides four persons to be elected by members of the Court from among such of them as are not enrolled as student or in service of the University. [(1A) In addition to the members specified in the above sub-section(1), the Executive Council shall also include one member from amongst the senior most Professors of the University belonging to the Scheduled Castes or Scheduled Tribes and one member from the senior most Professors of the University belonging to other backward classes of citizen, to be nominated by the State Government, on rotation basis, in consultation with the Vice-Chancellor.]25 (2) The term of the office of the members of the Executive Council other than ex-officio members shall be such as may be prescribed. (3) A person shall be disqualified for being chosen as and for being a member of the Executive Council if he or his relative accepts any remuneration for any work in or for the University or any contract for the supply of goods to or for the execution of any work for the University: Provided that nothing in this sub-section shall apply to the acceptance of any remuneration by a teacher as such for any duties performed in connection with an examination conducted by the University or for any duties as Superintendent or warden of a training unit or any hostel or proctor or tutor or any duties of a similar nature in relation to the University. Explanation :- In this section 'relative' means the relations [defined in section 2 of the Companies Act, 2013 and prescribed under rule 4 of the Companies (Specification of Definitions Details) Rules, 2014 as amended from time to time]17 and includes the wife's (or husband's) brother, wife's (or husband's) father, wife's (or husband's) sister, brother's son and brother's daughter.
