(1) The Police Act 1861 (Act V of 1861), in its application to the State of Meghalaya and the Meghalaya Village Defense Organization Act 1966 (Assam Act no. XXII of 1966 as adapted by the Govt. of Meghalaya) are hereby repealed. (2) Notwithstanding such repeal, anything done or any action taken under the Acts so repealed shall be deemed to have been done or taken under the corresponding provisions of this Act.
