(1)The District Superintendent of Police may, by public notice, temporarily reserve for any public purpose any street or other public place, and prohibit the public from entering the areas so reserved, except on such conditions as may be specified. (2) The District Superintendent of Police may authorise any police officer to erect barriers and other necessary structures on public roads and streets, to check vehicles or occupants thereof for violation of any legal provisions by them. (3) In making such order, the District Superintendent of Police shall prescribe the necessary steps for ensuring the safety of passersby. (4) The temporary structures shall be removed once the purpose for which they were installed is over.
