(1) This Act may be called 1[the Maharashtra Service Inams (Useful to Community) Abolition Act.] (2) It extends to the territories formerly comprising of Khandesh, Deccan and Southern Maratha Country and subsequently forming part of the districts of East Khandesh, West Khandesh, Ahmednagar, Nasik, Poona, Satara, Sholapur, Bijapur, Belgaum, Kanara and Dharwar as they existed before the States' Merger (Governor's Provinces) Order, 1949. (3) It shall come into force on such 2date as the State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint in this behalf.
