In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires:- (a) "Chief Controlling Revenue Authority" means such officer as the State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint in this behalf for the whole or any part of the 1[State of Maharashtra] ; (b) "Collector" includes any officer authorised by the Chief Controlling Revenue Authority to perform the functions of a Collector under this Act ; (c) "Plaint" includes a written statement pleading a set-off or counter-claim.
