(1) The Chancellor may, on the recommendation of the Executive Council supported by a majority of not less than two-thirds of the members of Executive Council present at its meeting, such majority comprising not less than one-half of the members of the Executive Council, remove the name of any person from the register of graduates, for such period as the Chancellor thinks fit, if such person has been convicted by a Court, of any offence which, in the opinion of the Executive Council, is a serious offence involving moral turpitude. (2) No action under this section shall be taken unless the person concerned is as prescribed by the Statutes, given an opportunity of being heard in his defence.
