(1) This Act may be called the Prohibition of
Employment as Manual Scavengersand their Rehabilitation Act, 2013.
(2) It extends to the whole of India 1***.
(3) It shall come into force on such date3
as the Central Government may, by notificationin the
Official Gazette, appoint:
Provided that the date so notified shall not be earlier than sixty days after the date ofpublication of
