1.(1) This Act may be called the Uttar Pradesh Slum Areas (Improvement and clearance) Act, 1962. (2) It extends to the whole of Uttar Pradesh. (3) This section shall come into force at once and the remaining sections shall come into force on such date as the State Government may, by notification in the official Gazette, appoint, and different dates may be appointed for different areas of Uttar Pradesh.
