In the circumstances mentioned in sub-section (1) of section 507, the 1[Municipal Commissioner] or the officer referred to in clause (b) of sub-section (1) of section 507, may in lieu of issuing a warrant for distress and sale of movable property or where such warrant has been issued but the amount recoverable has not been recovered in whole or part issue a warrant for the attachment and sale of the defaulter’s immovable property.
